Steam Box

A Caley 0-6-0 at Oban.

The summer holiday in 1958 took me to Scotland, and a few days were spent around Oban. I had a day trip by rail to Stirling, via the now closed Callender line, and several visits to Oban (63D) shed, where we see 0-6-0 class 3F number 57571, (she seems to be a long way from her home shed of Forfar (63C)), she was first introduced in 1899 and designed by McIntosh.
I will try to dig out a photo or two from Stirling, when I can get around to it (too many gardening jobs at the moment!).
Vaughan.

Hi Vaughan
What a terrific picture, because it brings back all sorts of memories for you when you look at it.

Hello Vaughan - Lovely old loco and a glimpse of a Caley tank loco as well! As you know I love these historical photos, unfortuneately I've posted all of mine I can find so far. Please find more to post, all of you! I will still keep looking in odd boxes around the house my self. Regards from me. Phil H. Leura. Oz.
