Devon Narrow Gauge
The Lynton and Barnstaple revival starts here at Woody Bay.
The locomotive is a 0-4-0 Well Tank built by J.A.Maffei of Munich in 1925. Over the years she has spent time in the United States and Sweden, before ending up in the U.K. In March 2006 she went to the Quarry Railway at Hollycombe, Liphook, Hants. She arrived at The L & B. in 2007, and was (as was customary with the L & B) named after a three letter Devon river, in this case the river Sid.
Phil : I did not have chance to visit the line last week, so I have posted this picture from last year.
I will dig out a few more narrow gauge photos later.
Come on everybody, I'm sure there are more narrow gauge pictures about.
Best wishes to all,
Vaughan.
PS : Sorry, but the location on the map is a bit vague.

Vaughan - Woody Bay station is about one mile due South of Woody Bay itself on the A39 or approx three miles SW of Lynton in roughly a straight line. Google Earth Street View has photos of the station from the A39. Lat/Long 51deg 12'06.32"N 3deg 53'22.11W . Any help? Phil H. Leura. Oz.
