A well executed photo here George, I'm not sure if you had the camera on automatic or not, but the ISO and shutter speeds look right for a close in shot like this. It all looks nice and sharp, well done! My only suggestion would be to look for an angle which will have the sun on the loco.

One of my favorite places to stay for short breaks is Grange over Sands, and you have found a nice location for your photo.
Keep well George,
Regards,
Vaughan.

This is quite something thanks for posting it George It still seems strange to me seing an 8F hauling coachs. As a boy all I remember is them hauling goods and minerals.

I'm only a mere 70 but still have a lot to learn. I realise, often with hindsight the position of the sun! So the suggestion does not go on deaf ears! Keep pointing me in the right direction though Ian, it's truly appreciated. I took one shot yesterday of the Lakelander returning through Millom Station alas the lack of light, and apparent inaction prevents me posting it!!! I was short of time though.

George - I think this is a great shot, photos ' on the wrong side of the sun ' can [ as in this case ] come out more dramatically than ones with the sun on the subject. The trick is to keep the sun from striking into the lens!If you can take more like this you don't have to apologise for anything!
Ant, I do agree - very shiny 8F's hauling coaches does seem strange. she looks great though! Regards from Phil H. Oz.
