Nunney Castle powers past Manningford after taking water at Woodborough some 2 miles back down the line. The line is on a rising grade all the way up to Savernake Summit and she could be heard all the way from her water stop until she was at least 4 miles past us.

Hello Robbie
Yes well. This is a great picture thank you for posting it up here Nunney castle seems in her element here on former Great Western metals, a truly "lineside shot"
Puts my Stanier Black five and the Britannia really in the shade.
Regards Ant
Hi Ant
Thanks for the kind compliments. I will say thought a lovely hot and sunny day with not much wind was a great help. It also helps to have Vaughan with his photographic knowledge standing beside you. As the B&H line passes 500 meters from his home he also knows where all the secluded foot crossings are so we can get decent lineside shot without the need to trespass. As you say, Nunney seemed to be kicking her heels up and having fun.

Lovely shot. Like it a lot.
