Living about 9 miles from the C'fon terminus and having moved from the midlands some 40 yrs. ago I have watched the line being built but as it was narrow gauge have not (regretably now) taken much interest in it since the start and only taken up photography 3 yrs. ago have travelled miles to get std. gauge and ignored whats on the doorstep!
This was taken last sunday, half term week with trains unable to run over the Ffestiniog because of a new bridge being put in at Minffordd for the portmadog by-pass. Loco names not even known! Sorry.

Hello Pete, Thanks for your prompt reply to my request for WHR photos, Apart from the Welsh cold and rain I envy you living so close to the WHR. The clip below from the webpage hosted by Peter Bowyer [ www.isengard.co.uk ] should help you identify the locos in your picture. Thanks again for the post, I can't get enough of the Narrow Gauge of Wales so please post me some more. Regards, Phil H. Leura. Oz.
Blanche on the 'First Through Specials' 19/2/11
Blanche and Merddin Emrys hauled the 'First Through Special' from Porthmadog on 19/2/11 with K1 heading No.138 hauling a 9 coach train south from Caernarfon. Vale of Ffestiniog was the station pilot at Porthmadog. The weather was poor for much of the day but any images would be welcome. K1 is rostered to operate with Lyd M/W/Th/F south from Caernarfon. Some sunshine is predicted for 20/2/11 for North Wales. The loco roster for 20/2/11 shows Taliesin and Merddin Emrys from Porthmadog. The pairing is rostered all week.
