A Scot leaves Scarborough.

The "Scarborough Spa Express" is seen leaving Scarborough on 19th August 2010. The loco is Royal Scot class number 46115 "Scots Guardsman". The famous signal gantry (see my photo "Smokey Departure") behind the train has now been dismantled and, I believe, gone to the North York Moors Railway. I'm not sure about the gantry in this photo - maybe someone will tell me.

I would expect the gantry to be out of use, the same as Falsgrave box opposite as all signalling for Scarborough comes from Seamer now. The long disused Londesborough Road excursion platform can be seen beyond the loco.
Hi Vaughan. As the gantry appears to be controlling a very over grown section of line, I imagine that it hasn’t been used in some time. Unfortunately I don’t know what is to become of it, as you rightly say the main gantry is to go to Grosmont.
