A Slumbering Giant
Helloo to you guys up there! Today I present you a Slumbering Giant, an example of the premier NSWGR passenger class of locomotive. She's quite a notable example as she hauled the first Sydney to Melbourne through train in 1962. For those who might not know, the individual states of Australia all had different rail gauges. Before 1962 all passengers had to change trains at Albury on the NSW / Victoria border.
I guess #3820 was notable enough to warrant a place in the museum. She last steamed in 1974, so as I said - she's in a deep sleep! Dreaming maybe, one day I might get out of here. In case any of you are unsure of a C38's heritage then think of her more noteable sister #3801 whose new boiler is somewhere betwenn OZ and Germany.
My regards to all and a Happy New Year 2012. Phil H. Leura. Oz.
