Would you believe that this heap of scrap is now up and running on the West Somerset Railway!
I took the photo of this rather forlorn "Braunton" in Dai Woodhams scrapyard in 1986. I recall writing to him way back then asking permission to visit his yard with a view to photographing the locos in store, he very kindly gave me permission and in fact met me on my arrival. After that I visited the yard several times. We owe so much to Dai, and without him we not have many steam locos out on the main line or on our Heritage lines.

Yes Vaughan I think I saw it too back in about 73-74 in the yard and you are right we do owe so much to him for so many of the locos we now still have.
